#How do Fiscal.ai and Investi differ?
Fiscal.ai, formerly FinChat, is built around data: clean financials, segments and KPIs, delivered through its terminal, its API and its connectors for AI assistants. Investi is built around the work: an analyst that reads the filings and your own notes, in a workspace where research accumulates.
Both care about sources. Fiscal.ai lets you click through a data point to its source; Investi cites the passage or cell in the filing for every number in an answer.
| Fiscal.ai | Investi | |
|---|---|---|
| Approach | A data terminal with an AI copilot, plus an API and AI connectors | An AI analyst in a workspace you keep |
| Coverage | Public companies globally, with standardized and as-reported financials | US-listed SEC filers and funds, plus US and international macro data |
| Depth | A large database of company-specific segments and KPIs | The full SEC record from 1993, including footnotes and exhibits |
| Your work | Custom metrics, charts and spreadsheet export | Notes, theses and folders next to each company, read by the analyst |
#What we compared
We rank tools on the same four criteria everywhere: how deep they reach into the filed record, whether a number links to its source, whether your work persists, and price. Prices change often, so check each product's pricing page. See how we compare.
#Where is Fiscal.ai better?
Standardized global data. Fiscal.ai covers companies outside the US, presents financials in both standardized and as-reported form, and tracks company-specific segment and KPI data in depth. It offers call transcripts, which Investi doesn't. If you want that data inside a chat assistant you already use, its connectors do that, and its API serves teams building their own tools.
#Where is Investi better?
The work around the numbers. In Investi your notes and theses sit next to each company, the analyst reads them before it answers, and any change it proposes to your notes shows as a diff you approve. It reaches into the whole filing, not just the financial statements, so a question about a footnote, a risk factor or an exhibit gets an answer with the passage cited. You can teach it your process with skills, run Python in a notebook, connect your own data through MCP, and set routines that rerun a question on a schedule.
#Who should pick which?
Pick Fiscal.ai if you want clean, standardized data on companies worldwide, or a data feed for your own models and tools. Pick Investi if you follow US companies and want a workspace where the analyst knows your thesis and every answer traces to a filing. We wrote about the trade-off in Why we built Investi as an app.
