## Sources

Company and fund data come from the SEC's EDGAR system: the full record from 1993 to today, with new filings arriving within minutes. That includes financial statements filed in XBRL, fund holdings from N-PORT, institutional holdings from 13F, ownership filings (13D and 13G) and insider filings (Forms 3, 4 and 5).

Macro and government data come from the agencies that publish them: FRED, BLS, BEA, Treasury, FDA, clinical trials, FDIC and more.

Market prices are a delayed last trade, 15-20 minutes behind.

## Cleaning

Values are what filers and agencies submitted; nothing is estimated.

- Amendments are applied to the filings they amend.
- When a company restates, both the value as first reported and the restated value are kept, with the filing behind each.
- Metrics are point in time: they use what was public on the date in question.
- 13F rows flagged as suspect, and options positions, are excluded from holdings totals.
- Shares withheld to pay tax are not counted as insider sales.

## Refresh cadence

- SEC filings: within minutes of acceptance.
- Prices: delayed 15-20 minutes.
- Fund holdings: as funds file N-PORT; the SEC makes only each quarter's final month public.
- Numbers on this website come from committed snapshots. Each snapshot records when it was fetched and the data version it was fetched from.

## How citations work

Every number links to its source: the exact passage or table cell in the filing, not an article about it. A source card shows the form, the filer, the filing date, the accession number and the document's sha256, so anyone can confirm the document hasn't changed.

Metrics aren't stored. They're formulas over filed numbers, and you can see the formula.

A mismatch check compares a cited value with its source and flags any difference.

## Gaps

We disclose the gaps instead of papering over them.

Coverage: US-listed companies and funds (SEC filers, including foreign issuers filing 20-F), plus US and international macro data.

## Who writes and reviews

Every article names its author, a member of the Investi team listed on the about page. We don't publish testimonials or quote users.

Pages with numbers about companies or funds are checked by a named reviewer, who checks each number against the filing it cites. Comparison pages are re-reviewed at least every 90 days and show the date.

We use AI tools, including Investi itself, to research and draft. A person checks every number and signs off before anything is published.

## Comparisons

Each comparison states its criteria, says where the other product is better, and says who should pick which. We compare approach and features only, and publish no scores until there are evaluation runs anyone can check.
